My first time. In a league of its own.

The first Speed Project to take place in a new location, France. WESH. A new map, the playing field felt even amongst those player who've played before in the other locations across the world.

Our team was an international affair. England, France, Germany. When it comes to representation, this team had it all. Nationalities, body types, ages, experience and energy. A true reflection of community. All women (runners) and one gentleman (part of crew).

This was my first Speed Project. No expectations, only anticipation. A sense that something sensational was about to unfold.

I looked forward to the intensity, knowing sleep would be limited, the roads would be narrow, the camera always on and the support unwavering.

From Chamonix to Marseille, with many teams travelling from London, it felt incredible. Almost like a home away from home. A running community adventure with a little spice.

This trip tested boundaries, endurance, speed, resilience and temperament.

With a small sleeper van and a medium sized four by four, we took on the narrow roads of France.

We did so with courage, commitment and heart.
